The Media Tree, also known as the Fountain Light Tower, is a unique installation in Coimbatore, standing approximately 11.6 meters tall with a prominent curved LED screen at its top. Located along Race Course Road and part of the Smart City project, this high-tech structure serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. It is equipped with over 5,000 LED nodes, creating a 3D-like visual effect, visible in 360 degrees. Designed to disseminate public information, the Media Tree broadcasts updates on government schemes, public health, sanitation, and occasionally, entertainment content.
The tower’s LED display is managed through the Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC) in RS Puram, allowing real-time updates to the displayed content. Coimbatore Smart City officials hope this structure, along with other enhancements on Race Course Road and DB Road, will become key attractions. These model roads feature pedestrian-friendly designs, cycling paths, vintage-style lighting, and designated vending zones, aiming to enrich public spaces in the city.
The project also includes a vintage-style clock tower at DB Road and a musical fountain at a redeveloped junction on East Club and West Club Roads, aligning with the urban development goals of the Smart City initiative.

4 months agoIts seriously made for photo shoot place and roundana was perfect to the place .The place is suitable for night photos and night ride. And really enjoyed in that place and I want to go another one time with my friends and families and really that place was very one of the worth place in coimbatore.
